Elena and Minodora’s joint birthday celebrations

No matter how ill you may be, there is always time for a party

A necessary part of the CID way is to offer the children our care as normal and dignified a life, as possible, together with access to a myriad of specialised services to help them thrive, within the limits of their normally complex diagnosis.  We offer whatever therapy  works  from  board games fun to the outside frolics, afternoon hours spent colouring, moulding, practicing sensory exercises, sensory stimulus or simply listening or talking about stories;  intense physio exercises, we will try everything needs to rehabilitate, fill their days and offer  hope of a better, brighter future.

This week the Saint Andrew’s, team were in party mode for two special young people who are at different stages but who each deserve a celebration. Elena Budica against all odds has achieved a very fragile and frail 22 years of age and Minodora Grozavu became 5 years old. Their surprise party included everyone’s favourites, birthday cake, fruit juice, snacks, a little music and lots of fun. Elena and Minodora were surrounded by fellow residents, were greeted with hugs and cheers to let them know they are treasured. Times like these are the ultimate rewards the care team enjoy for their everyday work challenge, when they can see children forget the troubles and woes if only for a couple of hours. The girls receiving some beautiful and practical gifts including beautiful blouses and plush toys. Everyone enjoyed the moment!
