Sponsor our 4th July Celebration at "the Palace Green"

Each year, Alyth Hughes and the dynamic support team at Fund-a-Physio mount a range small fund raising events and alternate years they do something bigger. This year's bi-annual "coup de grass" will be a Grand Sponsored Walk: Infants Toddle, Doggy Doddle; Senior’s Saunter or Wheelchair Wheelie around Ely's Palace Green.

The Bishop demonstrating his support for Fund-a-Physio for Children in Distress has given his permission for us to use "his" Green to raise some much needed funds.

Children in Distress is finding the down turn in charitable giving difficult for although donations are down their terminally and incurably ill children still need treatment and care.

Fund-a-Physio for CID is essential as it funds not only the travel and extensive work of their own Consultant Physio, but delivers professional development education and training for young East European therapist as well as much needed physio equipment. There will be many calls on the charity's resources throughout 2009 with new treatments as the new floor extension to St Nicholas Child Development Centre come on stream, where the lift will whisk wheelchair bound children up to a new treatment suite.

All the fun of the Fair

Throughout the day, there will be all the fun of a Medieval Fair entertainments galore going on, simultaneously with the walk, with traditional Morris Men dancing, Georgian dancers and a peddler. And there is more, this "Medieval fair" will be enhanced by booths with spinners and weavers, medieval instrument makers and the Ely Waits; even a silent auction. The Mayor and the Town Crier will open the event and hopefully every club and societies in Ely will be represented either by an individual or a team sponsored by their fellows.

The Youngest Show the Way

Alyth and the team would love to see you; interesting refreshments will be there in abundance through out the walk, from 10.30 – 4.30. Each lap is only 250 yards – a deliberate ploy which bars almost no-one and possible for almost everyone who is still breathing and will encourage the toddlers, the youngest of which is only 13 months old–so far.

It will be superb day out, Come along join the toddlers seniors and walkers of Ely, dogs and their owners, the elderly and the chair bound; ask for a sponsor form and join us on the day.

You Could Always Sponosor the CEO

If you cannot come and join the fun why not sponsor someone who will; a good bet are either the charity's Chief Executive, Alisdair Barron or Alyth Hughes our Consultant physio both delicately past their prime but still game, set them a target and see what they raise.

Sponsor and pledge forms available from Alyth Hughes, 43 Cambridge Road, ELY CB7 4HJ or; or call 01353 668541
