A Christmas Tale by ‘Rares’

Alex settlng into his new home this Christmas

My name is Alex or Rares, as this is what my adoptive Mum and Dad prefer to call me. Yes, you read that right, my adoptive Mum and Dad, two people with boundless love and good souls. I was placed in their broad loving arms and care, just two months after I was born because I seemed a ‘little different’ to my birth Mum. I use this word “different” because I was born with a number of severe health problems.

I was a ‘Christmas Day’ baby, born early in the morning of the 25th December. My adoptive parents celebrated my first birthday and year of life and I am convinced that there is nothing more beautiful than to come into this world at Christmas, as you seem to receive twice as many presents. This Christmas, I will be celebrating my second birthday only this time it will be with my CID Romania’s extended family of care.

Who are my CID’s family? They are beautiful and big-hearted people who take care and love children with severe health problems, whither abandoned by their families or not. I arrived at St Margaret’s because my Mum and Dad, despite their huge and honourable efforts in helping me to get better, could not provide the complicated medical care and monitoring which my heath requires.

Now the complex physiotherapy, cognitive development, strict proper diet and medication prescribed by my doctors are assured, by my second family care team at CID Romania on daily basis. My parents have not abandoned me but they accepted the need for specialist medical assistance to help me.

This Christmas, I would like to ask for just a little help and support for my new CID Romania’s family in their quest make me better. I do this by of thanks for the welcome and the loving care understanding and support offered to my Mum, Dad and me and the reassurance that I will receive the best of care and lots of love in this wonderful centre that is St Margaret’s.

Your sponsorship no matter how great or small will change and may save my life

With love from Baby Alex, his care team and all of our CID family, we wish you and yours the all the blessing of Christmas and for a wonderful New Year.
