Top Story"I Witnessed a Small Miracle" by Rev June HurnMadelin stepping out Children in Distress Does Not do Miracles But It Is Amazing What TLC Can Do I have known Madelin since he was a baby in a cot at St Christopher's in Curtea de Arges when it was a hospice. He was always someone special. He was bright, cheerful and interested in what was going on around him despite his ever increasing hydrocephalus. Since his shunt operation, the most amazing thing is his head control. He can now move himself from lying down to sitting up, without support. First Faltering Steps When I visited St Andrew's Hospice last summer, Gabriel, the hospice's very talented physiotherapist, had tailored a therapy programme for a Madelin that had him standing up in a frame to take his weight on his legs and feet. Now, to everyone's amazement, Madelin is trying to take his first faltering steps and walk. Who knows what else this young miracle man will be able to achieve? It is amazing what dedicated TLC can do! For more information, or to help support the work of Children in Distress please contact Alisdair Barron on 0141 559 5695 or abarron@childrenindistress.org.uk
