Spring is sprung? Well maybe not!


Fun in the snow 

Our St Andrew’s family celebrated the arrival of Spring and Romania’s national Martisor Day on the 1st of March,but outside, it felt as though they should putting up and dressing the Christmas tree, singing carols and tucking up warm with hot tea and christmas cake. It didn’t stop the children who were desperate to get out to have fun in the snow that has fallen 'deep and crisp and even' this Winter, excuse us, Spring!

Over the weekend, Claudia had a wonderful surprise when a close friend decided to visit her at the centre. They both went out in the snow and had lots of fun making snow angels and another great snowman! In many ways this was ideal, because at Christmas, when all the kids wished for was a bit of snow all they got was clear blue cloudless skies, sunny days and a balmy 13 degrees Celsius at noon and not  a single icicle in sight.

Helped by one of our clinical nurses, Claudia and her friend made a cute snowman and said a little prayer to Mother nature to retain the winter chill  for the next few days so that their snow man can live in the courtyard just that bit  longer. Seeing how happy the kids were in the snow, it made up for the warm months when they couldn’t have fun outside. The care team are glad that Claudia and friends had a wonderful afternoon again, creating happy memories and building a ‘frozen friend’ sporting a pink bucket and some charcoal for buttons. The photo evidence is all one needs to read the children’s excitement.
