Mid-Summer Night's Charity Fest

Mid-Summer 'Fest' in full fling

Mid-Summer Festival Guest in the Intercontinental's Rapsodia Room

A Night to Remember

With the help of the Intercontinental Hotel, Bucharest, award winning Anglo Romanian vintner Halewood, new singing sensation Jennifer Crestol, the multi-talented musicians of Prom-Art and over fifty generous patrons, Children in Distress took another great step forward by organising their first fundraising dinner dance in Bucharest.

Superb Venue, Wonderful Food, Entertainment and Guests

The guests had a wonderful evening with superb food, live international cabaret and dancing 'til the early hours.  In the process, they raised well over £3,000 to help fund the redevelopment and much needed expansion of the charity's St Nicholas' Child Development and Therapies Centre.

"The Work of this Superb Children's Charity is Worth Every Euro You Donate This Evening"

His Excellency, HBM's Ambassador, Robin Barnett, undertook the delicate task of maximising the fundraising opportunities of the auction of a wonderful range of donations.  These included weekends for two in Romania's most beautiful settings, bottles of the internationally acclaimed and award winning vintage wines produced and brought to the market by the exceptional vintners of Halewood Romania and a beautiful hand stitched quilt crafted by Tesca Barnett-Osman, wife of the Ambassador.

Our Guests are Thrilled

Valentina Zaharia, who had organised the event, was initially somewhat concerned when the guests were detained by Bucharest's notorious traffic. However, once everyone had arrived and were seated, the event developed a life of its own.

Valentina commented, "This was our first formal fundraising event and everyone has had a fantastic night, Jennifer Crestol and the artists of Prom-Art have such talent and we are delgihted they volunteered to perform for us. We have offered a unique evening's entertainment and our guests are thrilled to be part of it. We can only look forward to the next event."
