Happy birthday and many happy returns, Andrei, Cristina and Dani!

Enjoying the triple celebrations

The  team at St Margaret’s, who love and care for the child residents, try to make the lives of all the children, sadly to many of whom are all too often abandoned by their birth families, as ‘normal’ as possible. Part of that approach includes surprising them by organising birthday parties, which offer treasured moments of joy, filled with favourite activities, fun & games and favourite treats. And so it was, when the team organised a surprise party for Andrei, Cristina and Dani. Although born on different days, these three children are now part of CID’s family of care where they can live and look forward to a better and hopefully brighter future.

At birthday party time St Margaret’s becomes a fun-filled house, garlanded and bedecked with balloons ready to bring joy to each birthday girl and boy. Cristina opened the party with a dance and she received a beautiful gift of a toy doggie that can read stories and a big book she can use to decorate Barbie dolls. The kids jointly explored their gifts, whilst everyone else enjoyed the music and the fun. Little Andrei’s eyes just sparkled when the kids were invited to sit around their table and have a slice of delicious “pizzzaaaaaa.

The stuffed with  pizza slices, and exhausted by dancing and active games, everyone gathered round to sing a somewhat belated “happy birthday” and after the third rendition the ‘birthday gang’ made a special wish and each got to blow out a candle  on the cake. Having opened their personal gifts. Dani was happy with his beautiful t-shirt, Cristina jumped for joy when she set eyes on her beautiful, new red dress and Andrei could barely contain his excitement just tearing the wrapping from his gift.

Our birthday tale ends, on a positive note, with lots of fun memories and three children happy having celebrated their birthdays in the nicest possible way. We would like to thank everyone for making this a very special day and for the hard work and dedication but then they wouldn’t have it any other way.
