Shoebox Appeal Brings joy to children in Moldova

CID’s Shoebox Appeal 2009 delivery helps confirm Santa Claus is real

For the first time the overwhelming generosity of supporters of CID’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal 2009 made it possible to deliver a little of the joy of Christmas to the socially disadvantaged children in the community and in state institutions in Chisinau, Cahul and Falesti in Moldova.

We have received a wonderful letter of thanks for the Christmas shoe boxes delivered to those who needed them most the children in Institutions and from the most vulnerable families in the community.

“We want to express our deep sense of gratitude for the courtesy and kindness in giving us as presents, during the holiday season in 2009, lots of gifts for disadvantaged children in institutions in Moldova.

With great pleasure we let you know that these gifts not only brought smiles on the faces of babies and beneficiaries, but have also slipped a ray of light in their hearts, because, as we confirm they later felt important because Santa did not forget this time.

Thank you for your invaluable help on the soul, first of all the gifts, you’ve offered us, which, in our turn we distributed to various institutions involved, seeking to preserve the joy of the holiday season, but the belief in hearts of each of our beneficiaries that Santa Claus exists!”

In summer 2009, the people of the Moldovan Republic, in free elections, finally voted out the communist regime that has held their destiny in its hand for over 50 years. Our sharing gifts at Christmas is perhaps only the start and we hope to share expertise and experience to help the disadvantaged infants, children and people of Moldova with other projects and initiatives in the months ahead.
