Top StoryFather Christmas Makes a Guest Appearance at Guisborough’s Shop of DelightsVolunteer joining in the fun The good people of Guisborough started their Christmas Festival celebrations on Tuesday 4th December this year, with buskers, carols, food stalls,a pop choir, stilt walkers, late night shopping and a generous helping of free parking for those attending. It was also a late night shopping event and the team at the Children in Distress’s Thrift Shop made sure that they were at the heart of the festivities. Staff and volunteers in fancy dress offered smiles and a warm welcome with mince pies, biscuits, sweets and warm drinks to customers, their friends and passers-by. Surprisingly, Father Christmas and Mrs Claus made a special guest appearance and so enjoyed themselves that he has decide that another visit on Saturday 17th December would be in order, despite his pressing business schedule at this time of year. Jill Kay, the Guisborough Shop Manager shared “Everyone had a wonderful evening with fancy dress and the joy of seeing old and new friends enjoying their time in our ‘Cavern of delights’ . I am sure Mrs Claus cornered a bargain or two and said she might be back more often. Certainly Father Christmas was so pleased at the warmth of his welcome he is coming back on Saturday the 17th December to ensure that any of the children who missed him last week can have the chance to talk to him”. The Guisborough shop is at 15 Church Street, Guisborough, Cleveland, TS14 6HG and you will get warm welcome if you can manage along. If Santa can find it, so can you! |
