Top StoryMARIA ACHIEVES INDEPENDENCEMaria at the garden gate
Although not completely ideal, little Maria is now getting increasingly independent using a walker, found for her by the Physiotherapy team of St Nicholas’ Child Development Centre.
She was very wary at first and not very happy about not holding on to the helping hand, which was always there for her. However once she realised she was able to escape by using the walker, she was more than happy to give it a go. The metal gates to the sensory garden at St Margaret’s Hospice now have to be firmly closed or we shall have a little absconder. It is especially good to see the children achieve a degree of independence, as this is a sign of normal development.
Well done Maria for taking your first steps. |
