Top StoryOh what a party! Little Maria’s 1st birthday celebration wasNurses Carmela & Casiana with Maria\'s birthday cake
They say that birthdays come but once a years but for the children at St Margaret’s the parties are a bit more regular. Today in the early morning summer heat, the children celebrated ‘Little’ Maria’s birthday. She was dressed in her favourite party frock; her God Mother ,Sister Casiana was there to make sure that she missed none of the fun. Little boys and girls from the Lilliput Singers dropped in their little red and green elves outfits to sing-a-long and we even had a welcome guest in young Alexandru from St Andrew’s who is currently at Bucharest’s Funden Hospital for more tests. The cake was exciting with so many firework candles and it tasted divine. Cooling drinks helped the party go with bang as did ‘Little’ Rafael , Rafi was everywhere at once, constantly looking for ice cream, cake or just a cup of orange juice . Maria is a firm favourite with everyone at St Margaret’s, even the centre’s GP , Dr Valeria Herdea who dropped in first thing this morning with her husband to make sure that Maria has beautiful gold earrings, just right for a very pretty girl. It was a great party which was over before the heat became too much for everyone and fast noon naps were in order. Bucharest is currently in a grip of a heat wave and the Orange warnings to stay in the shade and drink plenty of water are being broadcast every hour. At St Margaret’s the logistics of moving the children to a new temporary ward to Allow the three weeks required to re-roof their children ward home is under constant discussion. With every expansion and creaking contraction the need of a new roof for the children ward and therapy suite become ever more apparent. A little donation from all of our readers could help the situation enormously. If you could help make the roof a possibility by sharing as little as five pound £5.00 webistes please make a donation on line via the home page and our Just Giving account. |
