Planning and preparing for perfection at our Summer Garden Party

CID’s Summer Garden party takes place this evening in the extensive gardens owned by Maria Popa, patron of the charity’s work in Romania. Maria has generously opened her house and gardens and her restaurant ‘Chez Marie’ will supply the food, whilst refreshment will be generously donated by a range of companies across Romania.

Over 100 invitations have already been accepted and there may be even more guests if the weather holds up. Although Bucharest is basking in sunshine and relatively high temperatures there may be showers later in the evening. Like all summer storms, when it rains it really rains.

So with fingers crossed, the staff are putting the final touches to the tombola and auction items and hopefully our @Summer Garden party guests will generously help continue the care of the children in St Margaret’s Hospice. Last year’s garden party was a roaring success raising over €2000 so we can only hope that this year’s is just a successful. The guests will be entertained by some of Romania’s favourite artists so a good night should be had by all.

Last year’s funding help secure an isolation cots and facilities within the hospice this year’s will help replace the damaged conservatory roof and the associated children ward.
