Oh! What a night it was

Guests enjoying the barbeque

The sun shone, the rains stayed away and over one hundred and fifty guests thronged CID’s Summer garden party and barbeque at Chez Marie’s, beautiful Chez Moi. CIDRo's Patron and hostess for the evening, Marie loved every minute as she shared “My husband Dan and I love having people in our home everyone is very welcome I love having an open house just like this and to see so many people enjoying themselves and doing something to help the children in our hospice” .

The entertainment was wonderful and Rãzvan Simion, anchorman of Romania’s Antena 1, ‘Rãzvan and Dani’ morning show, masterminded the auction and tombola, having flown in from an assignment in Iasi earlier in the evening, just to do so.

Everyone enjoyed themselves including little Luca, who had flown in from Coral Springs, Florida with his parents to join the fun. His parents originally from Pitesti help raise funds for St Andrew’s hospice and the children there. There was something for everyone including the cabaret from Florin Chilian, Vali Craciunescu and Eusebiu Stefanescu and for the football fanatics amongst us there was even a screen laid on to watch the Spain beat Portugal in the penalty shootout.

The event and the generosity of guests raised slightly over three thousand pounds (£3000) and will add to the growing roof repair fund to keep a roof over the heads of the infants and children at St Margaret’s Hospice.
