Come one, Come all, Hear St Laurence Hungerford’s Call

St Laurence Hungerford Parish Church

CID’s Thanksgiving Service Saturday 20th October 2012

The Reverend Andrew Sawyer and the congregation of St Laurence Hungerford have been part of the Children in Distress family of support since 1992, working within Hungerford Churches Together to raise funds to support the work of the charity. It was only right therefore that our 22nd Annual Service of Thanksgiving  is celebrated amongst friends in the parish and church of St Lawrence in the Croft, Hungerford, where everyone is greatly looking forward to offering the warmest of welcomes to this picturesque and historic village.

The service will start at 2 p.m. and will reflect the ecumenical background of our supporters. Bishop Roger Sainsbury, who helped and advised Dr John Walmsley, the charity’s founding director, in the earliest and darkest pioneering days of our work, will lead our celebrations,

As ever, there will be ample opportunity to catch up with old friends and volunteers and to meet local supporters over a “cup of tea and a bun” in the Croft Hall adjacent to the Church Alisdair Barron and Valentina Zaharia, the executive team of CID UK & CID Ro will reflect on the charity’s year, the challenges and successes.

For those travelling with sat navs on the day the St Laurence the postcode is RG17 0HY

Hungerford has a good train service from Paddington in London and is easily accessible from junction 14 of the M4. Please do contact Robin or Anna Dunn we will be delighted to help with more details if you need them either on 01488668310 or via email rdunn@toucansurf.com.

Above all, do come if you can – let’s fill our church as we give thanks for the work of the charity this year.
