Young Cristina recovering after breathing scare

Cristina befroe her recent setaback

Cristina  who has a cleft lip and palate no surgeon  is prepared to operate on, is  one of the many “special” children at  St Margaret’s Hospice, she  was recently rushed to the Victor Gomoiu with severe breathing difficulties. Sadly she  is  prone to respiratory problems but we now have her back after a week in hospital supportered by a range of  nurses  from St Margaret’s caring for her every need. Twenty-four hours a day, just as they would in the hospice, they  spoon feeding her, washed and changed her as required and she seems a little better.

Cristina  responded well to treatment and was discharged after only a week in the hospital ward as the doctors felt  her condition was "stable". She is now back at St Margaret’s with prescribed bed rest and a new set of medication, her doctors’  final prescription included the words “be patient, hope and pray.”  Cristina nurses have devised an extra special care programme  and monitor her every thirty minutes  to ensure  that if there is any change it  is picked up as quickly as possible. Hopefully next week Cristina will be back to her old self and back in her old routine.
