Young Entrepreneurs show their worth

Proud exhibitors ready for sales

Just before the Orthodox Easter, the children in the CID community education project in Bucharest No. 62 elementary school organized an Easter themed exhibition, as an ideal opportunity to showcase their artistic talent and ability.

These 4th, 5th and 6th grade scholars used their imagination and talent with plaster casting to handcraft then paint with beautiful acrylic colors, a range of candlesticks, egg holders, paintings and Easter themed figurines. These were displayed for sale on stalls set up in the school’s corridors so the kids had their chance to practice newfound entrepreneurial skills, selling all they had produced. Everyone participated in the process of setting up the exhibition stalls, pricing and selling what they had produced. This helped boost everyone’s self-esteem and confidence, enhancing the experience for those taking part.

Throughout, all of children had the chance to present their handicrafts and were praised generally for their artistic ability by teachers, school staff and peers. The headmistress was especially impressed that the event was such a success as she had supported this CID Foundation initiative and encouraged the children involved.

After the event, all children fed back their impressions and experience of the sales exhibition, and helped decide how the funds raised would be used. Finally, it was decided to provide extra-curricular riding lessons, a fun and exciting activity suitable for everyone involved. As well as offering their congratulations, CID presented everyone involved with backpacks and badges as tokens of appreciation for all their hard work.
