A little help means so much

Help Hope & Hospice, one  of the sister programmes, set up by  Children in Distress’s, is known in Romania simply by it initials as  (ASH) and it is reaching out into the community with a new “Christian Solidarity” initiative in partnership with the good people of  Bucharest’s Sherban Voda Parish. This project is approved and endorsed by the local General Department for Social Work and Child Protection in Sector 4.

Twenty-four deserving families existing in the direst poverty will each receive practical help and assistance over the next three months. Each family struggles with the severe ongoing challenges, bedeviled by chronic health problems, poor living conditions, grinding poverty or low income and the ever present inability to provide the family with basic necessities  or even  to keep the kids in school.

The leader of the Sheban Voda team delivering this initiative shared “We simply cannot find words to express the joy we experience each time we are welcomed into a home; we wish to continue this pilot programme, as it has brought so much happiness to those we have found in such distress. We wish to thank Help, Hope & Hospice Association for choosing us to be their partners for this project.
