An Essex Garden Party raises more than £1K for Children in Distress

Visitors had fun in the sun, on 11th July at the quintessential Garden Party held at the 900 year old Priory Church of St Laurence, in the picturesque village of Blackmore, Essex, to raise funds for Children in Distress.

It was a wonderful day and there was something to enjoy  for everyone of all ages, for organizer Jenny Dodd  created the event around a  traditionally English Afternoon Tea , supported by a variety of craft stalls, timeless garden party games, live music and entertainment, and a raffle offering wonderful prizes. Reverend June Hurn, CID’s long time Trustee and Mobility Aids Advisor attended during the afternoon festivities with her husband.  Both had superb time and June shared a little of the work of the Charity today and warmly thanked the organisers and those having fun for both attending and for their support, for the children in the charity’s care.
