Willow Brook Pupils have 129 reasons to be exceptionally happy

"We are happy Girls and Boys"

Shoebox Appeal is an important event in the school year for the children of Willow Brook Primary School in Keyworth. The pupils of this wonderful school are very actively involved in CID’s “Love in a Box Appeal” and the whole school takes part, setting aside half a day so that all of the children can select items to put in their box. The school hall becomes a hive of activity, as the children make sure that they choose from the tables that have been set up across the hall what they think is just right for their box. There are piles of all manner of goodies, little toys, toiletries, books, pencils,  games, sweets, hats scarves and mittens, all purchased or donated by parents and or the school, to help children from some of  the poorest families in Europe.

This year Willow Brook pupils assisted Shoebox Appeal 2015 by making up a spectacular 129 boxes, brim full of love, they went on to help load them on to the collection van for the first leg of their journey to Romania. Well done Willow Brook Primary! The generosity of your children means that there will be 129 exceptionally happy children in hospital wards, orphanages, residential schools  and children’s centres this year  and for each and every one of them there will be a Christmas after all.
