King Michael of Romania is gravely ill

His Majesty King Michael of Romaina

Children in Distress, as a charity has never involved itself in politics always working within the constitution and respecting  the form of government chosen by the Romanian people. However the Chief Executive of CID UK and the Executive Director of CID RO have had the honour of an audience with His Majesty King Michael and for his advice,  consideration, personal kindness, understanding, and tacit support hold His Majesty  in the greatest of respect.

King Michael, is the last living Head of State of period of the Second World War, arguably the bravest  Head of State, Romania has ever had, he sought peace with dignity,  to preserve post war  democracy from  hard line communism and ultimately sacrificed his throne to protect his people and led a long, lonely and dignified exile,  seeking only  the best interests of his people; always hoping to return to serve them in any capacity.

It is with the greatest sadness that we hear that King Michael is gravely ill and would ask that prayers are said for his wellbeing.    Our thoughts and prayers are with Queen Ann and members of the Royal family.
