All aboard! For a new life?

On Friday 1st of April two boys from our little St Margaret’s  family left to start a new life.  Accompanied by Sister Casiana, Florin and Rafi travelled initially to  Sector 2's Services Centre for Children with Disabilities and then went on to their new home in a Centre near Saint Margaret’s Hospice, where they received a warm welcome from the staff and the other children. At lunchtime St Margaret’s social workers called the Centre’s manager, who confirmed that the 'dynamic duo' will share the same room and that they were settling in quite well. Both boys were also happy to discover that they will have lots of new friends at their “new home”. Rafi with his outgoing personality has already made friends immediately on arrival and had started exploring. Florin on the other hand, that bit shyer acted as a protective big brother, held tight to Rafi’s  hand taking care of him offering  advice, guidance and support as required.

The St Margaret’s team who have been 'in loco parentis' for them for so long will do everything they can to maintain a close relationship with  the boys especially so that they can continue to attend school and make their future medical appointments; Rafi for instance is scheduled to attend his eye check-up with a renowned ophthalmic specialist. Hopefully they will also continue their rehabilitation, physiotherapy speech and language and cognitive-behavioural therapy sessions provided at S Nicholas Child Development Centre.

Good luck boys and we hope you quickly settle in your new lives and send our love and support and best wishes!
