Walking with spring in our Hearts” A charity evening of song and dance in Arges County


Vote of thanks to guests and performers

On Sunday 3rd April, at the Cultural Centre of Cerbuneni-Mustatesti Village, Children in Distress Foundation, with the support representatives of the town hall  of Valea Iasului Commune,  organised a charity folk show to raise funds for  children in need, who  benefit from the programmes offered  by CID’s Saint Christopher’s Centre in Curtea de Arges.

 Many local artists offered to perform including Daniela Cernea, Carmen Iordache-Cernea, George Margineanu, Crinu Spataru, Ana Maria Cirstina, Daniela Barbuceanu, Gabriela Argeseanu, the Hora Ensemble from Albestii de Arges, the “Spring Flowers” vocal group, the  Argesului Group and  the ABC band.  The show was hosted and compared by two well-known, popular Romanian artists, Catalina Anton and George Margineanu.

 As the curtain fell on a wonderful evening of traditional song and dance, Florina Isfan, the representative of Children in Distress and the Mayor of Valea Iasului Commune, Nicolae Barbu, thanked the audience for their presence and support. They also thanked the many artists for their participation and performance as well as all   those who helped organise this charitable event. Both expressed a common wish to organise future similar events on behalf of children in much in need of the local community’s support. 

 CID’s St Christopher’s Team  are thrilled to report that the event raised over 1220 Lei (£250) donated by the 150 strong audience and  members of the local community, and that all of the  funds will be used to help local children in need and their financially  challenged families.
