Claudia and her chum Nelus have recently been ‘happy campers’

Enjoying another day on the beach

Young Claudia has been away at seaside camp for the last week. The camp is in the beautiful Black Sea Resort of South Eforie and Claudia went along with Carmen, a nurse from the Centre, and her best friend, and former fellow St Andrew’s resident, Nelus. There are also a large contingent of kids and teachers from Pitesti’s Saint Constantine and Helen Centre

Claudia went to the beach, every day, to sun herself on the sand and frolic in the waves; she played with Nelus and the other children and also started a sand castle, master builder’s contest. The evenings were spent walking on the boardwalk or playing ball games with Nelus especially as these are things she enjoys but can’t do that often as they would like these days, as Claudia hardly gets to see her chum during the year. With Carmen in tow, the pals also visited Constanta and its renowned Dolphinarium, Planetarium and Aquarium. The Dolphinarium seems to have been quite an unforgettable experience. Claudia is  so excited about what she had seen and experienced that she is already planning for the next camp which, fingers crossed, will be held beside the sea, as the ‘happy campers’ all agree that their  time spent by the sea was all too short. The kids had a fairly full schedule each day, which they enjoyed and the time spent relaxing or walking around the town was also good. One never to be forgotten experience for the dynamic duo was their boat trip. They both had so much fun and the boat trip was an exhilarating adventure so likely they will be telling stories about it for many months to come.

The camp experience was such a unique event for Claudia, a time, brim full of lifetimes firsts; it was  the first time she got to spend a few days away from St Andrew’s in a new and exciting place and the first time she saw the sea never mind the Black sea. The St Andrew’s team couldn’t be happier for Claudia as she takes her first faltering steps to growing independence and they hope eye-opening experiences likes these, will continue to enrich her journey through life!
