The 2nd of July, was a special ‘Birthday’ Day at Saint Margaret’s Hospice with a ‘special’ surprise for the birthday girl, Rebeca, who turned 6 years old.
Early in the morning, she was helped to put on the clothes she had chosen to wear for the day and during breakfast, she had fun with her friends, the she went for a walk accompanied by her named nurse. Everything happened in a natural, normal way so Rebeca didn’t suspect a thing.
Returning from her morning outdoors, Rebeca was welcomed with a surprise party organised in the residential wards where the entire care team put a great deal of effort and talent to work to decorate the space and get the ‘celebration’ birthday cake ready. Everybody wished her a belated happy birthday and many hugs and kisses were exchanged, filling the atmosphere with love and joy.
Excitedly Rebeca rushed to make a wish and took a deep breath before blowing out the candles so everyone is positive her wish will come true. Our beautiful dark-eyed beauty was surrounded by love and her special friends from the UK Margaret and Maurice Radford, made her day by having sent a beautiful present, which arrived in time for the celebration. Another happy day at Saint Margaret’s ended on appositive note and the staff all hope Rebeca will have a productive year, she will continue in good health and to cheer their mornings with her gorgeous smile and continued progress
