Whenever visitors cross the threshold at Saint Margaret’s Centre they are immediately impressed by a palpable vibe of positive energy there, smiles, laughter and children, who like to welcome guests and visitors with open hearts and friendly hugs.
Around the middle of February, representatives of an orthopaedic shoe company arrived at the Centre to measure the feet of Cristina, Alexandru and Narcis so that they could have brand new shoes to help correct some problems. The visitors were welcomed by Cristina, who was brave and cooperated well during the foot print procedure, and measurements were taken to make new orthoses and boots for her.
While Cristina was involved in the very-careful and what became a tad longer than expected process, her other friends, who are of an inquisitive mind, were curiously sticking their noses on the room’s glass door to see what was happening to their chum. They were waved in by Cristina, to support her in her hour of need and to meet her delightful visitors. The kids politely introduced themselves to the visitors and started asking questions about what was happening during the process. The Reps and technicians were surprised to see how happy and innocent they were and that they know how to relate to newcomers and how well they get along. Towards the end of their visit, our visitors promised to return and visit the kids more often.
After a couple of weeks, the new boots were delivered, and the company’s team surprised the children by bringing some very thoughtful presents for them. Thus, Cristina, Alexandru and Narcis each received, aside from the boots adapted to their needs, a tracksuit with cartoon characters and a matching pair of socks. They were invited to collect their presents and Darius, Rebeca and Nicoleta were delighted to see that their new ‘friends’ had kept their promise and had come back to see them, aside from that they had brought such nice presents, that the children will be more than happy to wear. The children rewarded their guests with beautiful beaming smiles, hugs and lots of gratitude and invited them to return whenever they can.
