Love wins over personal comfort

We are all familiar with the challenges the world is facing right now.

Social distancing measures on top of a new reality that lacks everything we took for granted and seemed familiar and normal until several weeks ago transformed this period into an incredibly demanding experience on a personal level.

St. Margaret’s team went through difficult moments along the way. According to the provisions of the 8th Military Ordinance, ten of our colleagues were forced to remain at the Foundation’s headquarters, 24 hours a day for 14 days.

In order to be able to offer them accommodation and a space suited for boarding facilities we had to transform the physiotherapy room into a large bedroom equipped with everything needed for this special period. The Foundation did everything in its powers to provide daily meals for these kind souls who continued to be by the side of our precious children.

Fortunately, when the team ran out of masks, big-hearted people came to our rescue and offered all the needed protective equipment and disinfectant agents to continue to provide a safe environment for our team and the children.

We are grateful to our colleagues who agreed to take on the task of taking care of the children around the clock during these trying times, offering them much needed love and giving up their personal comfort for a greater cause.

They were even forced to spend Easter holidays away from their loved ones, thus sacrificing themselves for the well-being and safety of the children.

We would like to send our sincere gratitude and best wishes to those who continued to be by our side during these less pleasant moments!
