2nd December 2019 and the children from St. Andrew’s welcomed a new friend. This new lady is called Serban Valentina Teodora and she was born on 28th November 2008 making her 11 years old. She was diagnosed with: spastic tetraparesis, severe psychological and motor delay, gastrostoma, symptomatic epilepsy, severe kyphoscoliosis.

Valentina was brought to our facility by her parents who unfortunately could no longer take care of her specific needs at home as her condition deteriorated during the last years and frequent hospital stays made things worse.

They have other kids at home, a 1st grader and a 3rd grader.  Dad works in constructions and leaves home for long periods of time. This is why the family concluded that specialized care is the best thing in Valentina’s case.

Here at Saint Andrew’s Centre she is monitored around the clock, she receives proper medical care according to her diagnosis and she will receive all the care and love she requires. Valentina has a gastric stoma and her feedings are difficult, made worse by her gastro-oesophageal reflux.

Valentina, although in a severe condition is gradually starting to feel at ease.

Welcome to Saint Andrew’s Centre family of love and care, our dearest!
