Spring brings new rehabilitation goals for Madalin

Working to improve Madalin’s range of movement

This week, the St Andrew’s team are delighted and proud to announce that Madalin has found a new and exciting way of spending his time in the wheelchair. As readers will  know, due to his complex diagnosis resulting from severe but managed hydrocephalus, Madalin is in the main confined to living in a wheelchair but he has a positive and optimist attitude towards life, he is a fighter and an inspiration for his carers, who sometimes take life for granted.

With the help of his physiotherapist, following intense physiotherapy sessions, exercises and various techniques applied each week to tone his muscles and relax joints, Madalin reached one goal this week, a small step for some, a huge one for him. He can now lift both of his hands up, in the same time, and actually practice one of the relaxation techniques showed to him by his therapist some time ago. Madalin is full of joy and excitement to be able to do so and he sometimes laughs, making everyone’s day just that little bit brighter, because it is a great thing to watch him so amused. So, Spring is a great time to set new therapy goals, in his case and we hope that in time, with support from the specialists, Madalin will be able to continue and make progress.
