“The air is so clear, there is so much to do each day, we love our holiday here”  Florin Florinell aged  9

Although no longer suitable for its former role as a hospice, this chalet nestles surrounded by farms and woodland, close to a little stream at the end of a country road, on the outskirts of Curtea de Arges, a holiday centre in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains.

It is ideally placed to offer sheltered holidays, the beauty and tranquillity of the immediate area of Curtea De Arges and Arges County is something that can be enjoyed by everyone

The building was converted to a sheltered holiday centre by Children in Distress with the help and donations of a generous and committed supporter, Mr Christopher Crabtree, and the Manx Government.

It opened in August 2003 as a sheltered holiday centre, offering country based holidays for children, whom because of their HIV positive status, special needs or poverty; need a holiday of a lifetime.

Depending on need, groups of up to 18 children, or young people and carers will have the opportunity of a much needed break in an environment where there special needs and nursing care can be met.

Vacation and educational activities are provided throughout the year with field trips and treks to local farms or the mountains, scenic tours to the spectacular local hydro dam and the historic churches and monastery and royal tombs of Curtea de Arges.
