Mihai Badea to Take on Epic 130km Swim Across Lake Powell to Support Children in Distress

Children in Distress expresses immense gratitude to Mihai Badea, a cherished member of the Romanian community and close friend of our organisation, as he embarks on a remarkable journey to raise funds for our groundbreaking project, the Pineview Retreat Lodge.

Pineview Retreat Lodge, also known as Casa dintre Brazi, will serve as a sanctuary for children, particularly those with disabilities, offering respite relief and holiday experiences they may not easily access elsewhere. Located in Zǎrnesti, this special guesthouse will meet the highest standards of accommodation and facilities, ensuring a nurturing environment where children can find joy, comfort and a sense of belonging.

Mihai's historic challenge involves swimming the entire 130km length of Lake Powell, from Utah to Arizona, in record time. His courageous endeavour symbolises hope and resilience, reflecting the spirit of the children CID aims to support. Mihai's journey will commence on August 11th in Utah and conclude on August 13th in Arizona.

Your contribution will not only support Mihai in this incredible feat but also contribute directly to the realisation of Pineview Retreat Lodge and the fulfilment of countless children's dreams.
