About the Project
Our Community Education Outreach programme for students at risk of school dropout from disadvantaged rural areas is designed with a clear purpose: to break down barriers to education and ensure that children from socio-economically disadvantaged families have the opportunity to complete their compulsory schooling.
With the participation of 150 children aged 6 to 14 years, who are at high risk of dropping out of school due to various socio-economic challenges, our program aims to equip them with the necessary competencies and skills for successful integration into the formal educational system and improved academic performance.
Through a range of activities, we strive to support these children in their academic endeavours and provide them with essential protective skills and habits for both physical and emotional well-being. Our remedial education sessions offer tailored support in lesson preparation, homework completion and addressing any gaps in knowledge. Additionally, we focus on developing socio-emotional skills through engaging activities such as thematic games, discussions and therapeutic techniques aimed at fostering self-regulation and emotional intelligence.
Recognising the importance of health education, we provide informative sessions covering various aspects of health, including hygiene, self-care and nutrition. By promoting responsible and healthy behaviours, we aim to instil lifelong habits that contribute to overall well-being. As part of our commitment to supporting these children, we also ensure they receive hot meals during lunchtime, addressing nutritional needs and fostering a sense of community and care.
Our program targets children from families facing unemployment, unstable employment, and financial hardship, where low educational levels and other familial challenges may further exacerbate the risk of school dropout. By providing comprehensive support and resources, we aspire to create a supportive environment where every child has the opportunity to thrive academically and personally.
